Jeffery. A young teenager who is in remission after cancer treatment. He was diagnosed with leukimia at age 5. Back in grade school, he met his best friend, Tad, whose leukimia was worse then his. Tad is in a wheelchair along with other problems while Jeff gets away with only a limp and some brain damage. His math went down the drain. Oh, did I mention that a really hot girl is, for some reason, REALLY into him? Well, now there is a new state test that you have to pass in order to pass 8th grade. Jeff knows he can do fine in everything, except math. Tad starts to tutor him because Jeff's beloved brother Steven (see/read Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie) has lost it and gone to Africa to find himself. In return, Jeff is training Tad to be able to walk across the stage at graduation, so that they can walk across, together.
This is a really moving sequel to the book Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie (which I plan on reading soon). Jordan Sonnenblick really captures Jeff's 8th grade year of a strong friendship, a caring family, and girl troubles all in one amazing book called After Ever After.
